Breaking all the rules…

Since I’ve been here I’ve had to break two fundamental rules that were drilled into my head from early childhood:

1.  Don’t eat with your hands (unless you are at Medieval Times in which case you are required to mercilessly rip chicken apart and demand more beer from your wench) – Eating with your hands is the norm, very satisfying and way more efficient (except when eating rice).

2.  Don’t call people “Indians” (They’re Native Americans!) – I constantly pause before I refer to people as Indians, in fear that I am going to accidentally offend someone’s cultural heritage.

On a totally unrelated note, they have cricket batting cages here:

Amit! I am loving this. I can practically hear your voice and the laughter you’re trying to suppress as you relate all of this to us. Keep it coming! You’ve inspired me to get a little more serious with my own records – its too easy to forget that what seems banal to us after awhile is usually pretty entertaining – this is why I love your fresh-eyed perspective on everything.

I probably already told you that I was reading “Shantaram” and thinking of you – if you haven’t read it already I’d highly recommend it as it paints a vivid picture of your new city.

After the ice cream shop is open I’m taking my first proper vacation – either I’m coming there or we’re going someplace bitchin.

    Hope all is well!!!!!!
