ive spent most of my life in new york. i have 4 brothers and 6 neices and nephews. i love jazz, samba and reggae. i play basketball religiously. im fascinated and passionate about technology. i have wonderful family and friends.
long
ever since i was a little kid i always like technology, i grew up on caveman ugh-lympics and mission impossible on my commodore 64. i took apart (and occasionally put back together) computers. my first experiences with programming were hacking config files to give myself impossibly high scores in video games, then watched as my frustrated friends spend hours trying to beat them. at a young age i read isaac asimov’s the last question which really blew my mind.
but it wasn’t all so nerdy. i played a lot of sports growing up. i was a pretty good football player, a decent basketball player and an awful baseball player. i still play basketball and firmly believe that mind and body are connected – in order to be really happy you need to exercise both regularly. i love the mets despite their recent struggles, the jets despite their lack of success and the knicks despite zach randolph.
i starting playing saxophone in 2nd grade and took up the clarinet in high school to play in orchestras. i was fortunate enough to play in an a group that played in twelve countries, including for the queen of jordan. i also played with new york youth symphony at carnegie hall. telling people i played at carnegie hall never gets old.
i’ve traveled a lot. i used to spend my summers in israel and when i got older i would spend a week or two in various european cities on my way. i’ve been to most major cities in europe, throughout the middle east, parts of central and south america, and a little bit of asia. recently i’ve gone rafting in the andes (i look awesome in a wetsuit), drank potato voldka in an polish jazz club, went camping in a mexican trailer park and motorcylced up the beaches in goa.
recently ive decided to take a job with an indian software company and will be moving to mumbai in october. im hoping to use this blog as a way to rant about technology and document my experiences in india.
